While doing another hobby (I was building a footbridge for hubbies model railway) I found another wet glue for card, wood and most plastics. It is like a superglue but without the fumes, it bonds easy and is quick so you have to make sure the first time you place your items together it is how you want it as is bonds instantly. You get a thin blue nozzle so you can get tiny drops of glue onto your work. I’ve used it both ways and spreading with a lolly stick it a good idea. It made the cardboard footbridge very strong and as I am making some of the items for our daughters wedding I’ve used it on the favour boxes except for the ribbon and jems which I used tacky pva glue
